Late 2017/Early 2018 was a productive time for me with 3D work, as I gradually converted my existing Imperial tanks and armored vehicles from Maya to Blender after I spent so much time learning how to use Blender 3d.
The results have been very satisfying, not only are all the meshes and materials setup in Blender, but after much hard work I successfully created physics based tank track rigs for those that needed them. The rigs will correctly move the tank treads, the wheels and also take into account how they should move when the rig is turning left or right.
Below are some select renders of the Imperial weapons, old and new, and hopefully they will feature in film very soon.
It wasn't all smooth sailing though, being physics based when things went wrong the results were spectacular!
